Surati Farsan Mart

I knew there had to be good food in Artesia. It is the home to Little India, after all. After announcing my intention to explore the area a friend insisted I try Surati Farsan Mart. Having completely forgotten the name, I stumbled along the streets and had already eaten somewhere else before I found it. Even though it was my second lunch of the day, it still blew my mind. Surati specializes in vegetarian cuisine from the Indian state of Gujarat. Many of the dishes will be unfamiliar to those used to the standard Pujab found in the majority of Indian restaurants. But go! Treat yourself! Try the Ragda Samosa dish, a Masala Dosa, Pani Puri for something a little more exotic, Kichadi Matho an almost risotto-like rice dish. Of course, there is also the counter filled with dried snacks and delicacies to try. Very casual with a clean and relatively modern decor. And SUPER inexpensive! Next Sunday when you're wondering what to do and where to eat go have an adventure in Artesia and don't forget the name Surati Farsan Mart.
